Meet Sassy (20241229-06)

Rescue story:

Hi, my name is Sassy!

I was found wandering near a lake close to where my foster mama lives. A neighbour took me in, but I ended up spending about a year on a chain. My foster mama asked many times if she could take me, even though she didn’t really have room for another foster. My previous owners struggled to afford food for me, so they eventually made the heartfelt decision to surrender me to her.

Now I’m safe, cared for, and reminded every single day that I am loved.

My foster mama and I are working on a few things. Even though I’m small, I’m surprisingly strong on walks—I pull a bit because I get excited! I’m also learning how to feel more comfortable around food and treats. I didn’t always have enough to eat in my past, so I still worry about sharing with other dogs. But I’m trying my best to get better.

Aside from that, I’m a very sweet girl who adores people and enjoys being around other dogs. Playtime outside with doggy friends is one of my favourite things in the whole world!

My foster mama always tells me she’ll never give up on finding me the perfect forever home—a place where I’ll be loved, understood, and given all the snuggles I could ever want. I can’t wait to meet the family who will give me my happily-ever-after.
